The 3rd BEAWARE Workshop “Be Aware – EAST meets WEST – Collaboration opportunities in the frame of European H2020 AAT”, Factory Tours and B2B meetings were held in Bucharest on the 16th and 17th of September. After a short welcome and introduction by Mr. Sorin RADNEF, the Scientific Manager of INCAS and Mr. Kristo REINSALU, the coordinator of BEAWARE project, all the participants were invited to introduce themselves and describe expectations ahead of event. All of them were looking forward to a fruitful event, with collaboration opportunities. Followed very interesting presentations on the first result of BEAWARE mapping, Clean Sky 2, ETNA Plus services: NCPs supporting EU13 participants in HORIZON2020, Horizon2020 – opportunities for aviation; novelties from FP7 and also an Overview of Romanian Aeronautics.
The second part of the first day, 16th, was dedicated to visits to the most important two research facilities in aerospace field in Romania: INCAS – National Institute for Aerospace Research “Elie Carafoli” – the leading research establishment in aerospace sciences in Romania, with more than 60 years tradition in aerospace engineering, flow physics and applied aerodynamics, using state-of-the-art technologies and unique infrastructure of national strategic importance; and COMOTI Turbine Engines Research and Development Institute which is the only unit in Romania specialized in development and integration of scientific research, constructive and technological design, manufacturing, experimentation, testing, technological transfer and innovation in the field of aviation turbine engines, gas turbine industrial machines and high speed blade machines. http://www.comoti.ro/ro/
The first part of the second day of the event, 17th of September, was dedicated to B2B meetings, held also at INCAS premises. Altogether there were around 30 B2B meetings organized and the participants had the opportunity to establish contacts for future technical collaborations and R&D projects in the frame of H2020.
The event concluded in the second half of the day, with a visit to ROMAERO which is an aerospace company that integrates two major activities: aerostructure manufacturing and maintenance and repair for civil and military transport aircraft. It is the largest company in the Romanian Aerospace Industry with 90 years of tradition in this field and is located near the Baneasa Airport platform. http://www.romaero.com/?lang=ro
